Barbell Therapy…

started as a garage gym during the pandemic. We just built a gym the way we wanted it to be, and then we wanted to share it with everyone, so we expanded to a commercial location in 2022.

Therapy? We don’t mean to replace any form of therapy, we just want to acknowledge all the benefits of resistance exercise, it’s for everyone!

Why barbell training?

There is evidence that many exercise modalities can offer these health benefits, so why do we focus on barbell training?

Adherence and consistency to resistance training is paramount, so if someone prefers a certain type of training because they enjoy it more, we encourage that training.  At Barbell Therapy we advocate barbell training for multiple reasons.  Barbell movements offer a perfectly balanced environment that is more conducive to gradual progressive loading. This progressive loading is a key element for long term progress. Barbell training is safe and is a very effective way to work the whole body and track progress by the amount of weight on the bar.

Most barbell movements work multiple muscles at once, which gives you a good bang for your buck in terms of time and also teaches you to use your muscles effectively. More than anything, barbell training is our preference because it’s fun and we like it :).
